Friedehorst Park, Public park in Burglesum, Germany
Friedehorst Park is a roughly 9-hectare green space in Burglesum with natural landscapes, maintained walking paths, and diverse tree species across different elevations. The area provides visitors with open clearings and shaded sections for walking and exploration.
The park was established around 1875 near the Lehnhof estate and designed by Wilhelm Benque, who also shaped Bürgerpark Bremen. Benque's work left a lasting mark on green space design in the region.
The grounds are managed by the Evangelical Church of Bremen and serve residents as a gathering place for outdoor activities and community use.
The park is accessible from Holthorster Weg, where a sandy path leads past a pond toward various walking trails. Comfortable footwear is recommended since the paths cross different elevation changes.
At 32.5 meters above sea level, this park contains the highest natural elevation point in the entire state of Bremen. This fact often surprises visitors, as the elevation differences appear subtle across the flat region.
