Store Frederikslund, Neoclassical manor house in Slagelse Municipality, Denmark
Store Frederikslund is a manor house with neoclassical architecture located northeast of Slagelse. The main building displays a symmetrical facade with classical columns and decorative details that reflect the refined style of the period.
General Hans Henrik von Eickstedt founded the estate in 1783 and named it after Crown Prince Frederick. Ownership passed to Jørgen Frederik Castenskiold in 1786.
The estate maintains extensive records from the 1787 census, documenting the social structure of Danish manor life through details of family members and household staff.
The property covers a large area with agricultural fields, forests, and lakes managed as an active farming and forestry operation. Visitors should be aware this is a private working estate.
The estate gained attention in 2012 when it sold for a substantial sum, representing one of Denmark's largest property transactions at that time. This sale reflected the continued importance of major landed estates in the Danish real estate market.
