Studentergården, Student residence in Nørrebro, Denmark
Studentergården is a dormitory in Nørrebro housing 130 rooms across eleven separate living units. Each unit features its own communal kitchen and shared facilities where residents can gather.
The residence opened in 1923 when King Christian X attended the official ceremony, making it one of the first student housing projects beyond Copenhagen's old fortification lines. This event marked an important moment in Danish student accommodation development.
Each of the eleven kitchen groups has its own identity and hosts social events that shape daily life here. These gatherings create lasting connections between residents who share the same living space.
Applicants must have completed at least 60 ECTS credits in their studies before being eligible for a room here. Application periods open twice each year, giving interested students multiple chances to apply.
Residents here operate their own small brewery on site and maintain a costume room stocked with outfits for parties and celebrations. The community also runs a workshop where bikes can be repaired by those who live here.
