Urban, Historical brewery in central Aalborg, Denmark
Urban was a brewery in central Aalborg located on Hobrovejen street, where it produced various beer styles and mineral water for local customers. The facility operated until 1986, when production moved to another location.
The brewery was founded in 1860 and merged with Limfjorden in 1889 to create Aalborg Aktie-Bryggerier, a larger brewing company. This combination marked an important step in the local brewing industry's development.
The brewery created beers with names connected to local military units, which made the products feel tied to the community and its traditions.
The site is no longer active today and cannot be visited as a working facility. Visitors interested in local brewing history can find information about its role in Aalborg's industrial past.
Park Pilsner, a special beer introduced in 1936, was brewed with water sourced from springs in Rebild National Park. This distinctive water source gave the beer a particular character that set it apart.
