Kehtna Manor, Manor estate in Rapla parish, Estonia

Kehtna Manor is an estate in Rapla with a main building in Baroque style surrounded by a 5-hectare park planted with numerous shrubs and trees. The grounds show how such properties blended architecture and landscape design across different periods of Estonian rural life.

The estate was first mentioned in 1470 under the name Kectel and has shaped the region's landscape ever since. A fire in 1905 led to its reconstruction between 1906 and 1910, which gave the architecture its current appearance.

The place connects to Estonian folk figure Rummu Jüri, who worked here as a valet during the estate's active years. Local stories about his time at the manor add layers to how people understand this location's social history.

The grounds are open to visitors and allow exploration of both the building and the surrounding park. Wear comfortable shoes as the park invites walking and has uneven terrain in various sections.

The original building was constructed in Early-Classicist style, visible in historical records and documents from earlier periods. The rebuilding after the fire fundamentally changed this architectural language and created the structure visitors see today.
