Kalev Sports Hall, Sports venue and architectural monument in Juhkentali, Estonia
The multi-purpose sports facility features a modernist design with seating for 1000 spectators in the central district of Tallinn.
Architects Peeter Tarvas, Uno Tölpus, and Olga Konchayeva completed the construction of this Soviet-era sports hall in 1962 for 400,000 rubles.
The hall has influenced the development of Estonian sports by hosting numerous basketball games, volleyball matches, athletics competitions, and gymnastics events.
Located in the Juhkentali neighborhood, the venue serves as the home ground for BC Kalev/Cramo and maintains facilities for various athletic activities.
In 1970, the Estonian SSR team achieved a significant victory against the USA team with a score of 88:82 in this sports hall.
