Suure-Jaani Church

Suure-Jaani Church is a stone building standing at the center of town with traditional Estonian architectural features and a notable tower. The structure displays craftsmanship from earlier centuries through its solid construction and layered stone walls.

The church's origins date back before 1300 and it survived severe damage during the Livonian War and the Great Northern War. Major restoration efforts were carried out until 1767 to preserve the building and return it to functional use.

This house of worship serves the local Lutheran community and remains an active place for religious services and gatherings. It holds deep meaning for residents who maintain long-standing ties to their faith and traditions.

The church is located in the town center and easily reached from the main roads of the settlement. Note that it functions as an active place of worship, so visiting times may be limited to respect ongoing religious activities.

The building received official status as a national architectural monument in February 1998, marking its protection under heritage law. This designation ensures the structure remains preserved for future generations to appreciate.
