Edificio España, Skyscraper in Plaza de España, Madrid, Spain
The 117-meter high Edificio España features 27 floors, 32 elevators, and a neo-baroque limestone facade in the center of Madrid.
Construction started in 1948, and upon completion in 1953, this structure stood as the tallest building in Madrid until the Torre de Madrid surpassed it.
The building represents the architectural transformation of Madrid during the 1950s, incorporating both residential spaces and commercial establishments within its walls.
The structure contains a 360-room hotel, numerous office spaces, retail shops, and a rooftop pool accessible through multiple elevator systems.
In 2022, the building became home to Spain's main Zara flagship store, occupying over 9,000 square meters across multiple floors.
