Palacio del Marqués de Santa Cruz, Madrid, Baroque palace in San Bernardino Street, Madrid, Spain
The two-story mansion displays a Tuscan stone column entrance and features a neoclassical facade added by architect Agustín López in 1774.
The palace was constructed in 1768 by architect Antonio Plo for Count de Superunda, and later acquired by the Marquis of Santa Cruz in 1870.
The palace houses artifacts from the Battle of Lepanto, including Turkish ship lanterns brought by Admiral Álvaro de Bazán, first Marquis of Santa Cruz.
The building functions as headquarters for the Álvaro de Bazán Foundation and maintains the family archives of the Marquisate of Santa Cruz.
The palace bears bullet marks in its chapel from the Spanish Civil War period, preserving physical evidence of this historical conflict.
