Fachada das Praterías, Romanesque facade at Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, Spain
The Praterias Facade features intricate stone carvings depicting biblical scenes and figures across two arches with a central column on the southern wall.
Built between 1103 and 1117, this facade remains the only original Romanesque entrance surviving from the initial construction of the Cathedral of Santiago.
The facade exhibits detailed religious sculptures representing the life of Christ, including the temptation scene and episodes from the Passion narrative.
Visitors access the cathedral through this entrance from Tuesday to Saturday, following a marked path that leads directly to the apostle's tomb.
Two marble panels on the facade come from the original north entrance, moved here during the 18th-century renovation of the cathedral's northern section.
