Basílica de Nuestra Señora de las Angustias

The Basílica de Nuestra Señora de las Angustias is a Baroque church in Granada with two tall towers topped by glazed ceramic spires that catch the light from different angles. Inside, the main altar holds the image of the Virgin of Sorrows, set within a stone facade of Sierra Elvira featuring a Pietà sculpture above the entrance.

Construction started in 1617 on the location of a former hermitage dedicated to Saints Susanna and Ursula. The basilica grew into one of Granada's major religious centers, reshaping how the city's people practiced their faith.
