Ermita de Sant Gil

This mountain religious structure stands at 1955 meters elevation, featuring three oculi windows on its facade with symbols of a pot, bell, and cross.

The hermitage was constructed in 1615 at the location where, according to records, Saint Gil resided during his time in the Nuria Valley around 700 CE.

The building contains numerous votive tiles donated by individuals named Nuria, creating a personal connection between the community and this religious monument.

Visitors need to follow steep mountain trails to reach the hermitage, which remains an active religious site with celebrations on September 1st each year.

The structure incorporates elements from the former Nuria sanctuary church, including its vaulted door and railing, added during the 1999 restoration.
