El Semàfor, Cultural heritage site in El Prat de Llobregat, Spain.

El Semàfor stands as a rectangular building with a central watchtower, constructed three meters above sea level near the Mediterranean coast.

Built in the late 19th century, this signal house regulated maritime traffic along the coast through optical telegraphs and flag communication with Montjuic Castle.

The building represents the maritime heritage of Catalonia, serving as a testament to historical navigation practices in the Mediterranean region.

Located at coordinates 41° 17′ 38″ N, 2° 07′ 10″ E, the structure includes an underground cistern that collected rainwater for daily use.

The first documented workers in 1897 faced challenging sanitary conditions and frequent cases of malaria due to the Delta del Llobregat location.
