Playa de La Isla

The small sandy shore stretches 15 meters in length and 5 meters in width, surrounded by residential areas along the Asturian coastline.

The island next to the beach served as a significant whaling station in Asturias, with documented whale hunting activities dating back to 1232.

The original owners, Santa María de Arbas Abbey and Convent, leased the land to Avilés residents in exchange for profits from whale hunting.

The beach lacks direct services, but visitors can access facilities at the neighboring Playa de Carranques, including parking spaces and food options.

During the construction of Perlora Residential City, workers discovered whale bone remains that confirmed the historical whaling activities in this location.
