Kellokoski Hospital Museum

The museum occupies a blue wooden building in the courtyard of Kellokoski Hospital, presenting medical equipment and treatment methods from different periods.

Established in 1973, the museum documents the evolution of psychiatric care since 1915, including the challenging periods during the war years.

The exhibition includes personal items, artistic creations, and handmade objects that former patients produced during their occupational therapy sessions.

The museum opens from June through August, offering free admission and daily guided tours in Finnish at 1 PM to the hospital chapel.

The collection contains medical instruments such as lobotomy tools, electroshock devices, and straitjackets that illustrate past psychiatric treatments.
