Tour Elithis Danube is a 57-meter-tall residential tower containing 63 apartments spread across 16 floors in Strasbourg. The southern facade and rooftop are covered with photovoltaic panels that generate power for the building.
The tower opened in 2018 as part of Strasbourg's harbor district redevelopment. This project transformed a former industrial area into a modern residential neighborhood.
The building reflects a visible commitment to sustainable living through its design choices and materials. The solar installations are openly displayed on the facade, making eco-friendly technology a normal part of the residential landscape.
The tower is visible from public areas and easily accessible by foot in the harbor district. You can view the architecture and solar installation from the surrounding streets and public spaces.
The building produces more energy than it consumes and sends the excess back to the power grid. This makes it one of the few residential structures in France that actually supplies energy to the city.
