The courtyard displays the architectural blend of two distinct styles that shaped the building's character over time.
The building began as a Templar fortress in the 13th century and underwent significant transformations. It later became a Cistercian abbey before eventually passing to the House of Alba, who shaped it into its current Renaissance form.
