Wellington's Column, Memorial monument at William Brown Street, Liverpool, England.
The stone and bronze column rises 132 feet high, featuring a 25-foot statue of the Duke of Wellington at its summit overlooking the city center.
Following Wellington's death in 1852, Liverpool initiated a public subscription to construct this monument, which reached completion with relief panels in 1865.
The bronze panels on the pedestal display military scenes, while bronze eagles at the corners connect with garlands, representing British military achievements.
Located at the intersection of William Brown Street and Lime Street, the Grade II listed monument contains 169 internal steps to a viewing platform.
The statue of Wellington was created using melted bronze from cannons collected at the Battle of Waterloo, weighing over five tons.
