White Hart Inn, Grade II listed pub in High Street, Crawley, England
The White Hart Inn is a Grade II listed pub on Crawley's High Street that combines timber-framed sections with brick additions from different periods. Inside, full-height wooden paneling and traditional bar counters create the character of its interior spaces.
The building dates from around 1770 when it replaced an earlier inn on the same site. From 1810 to 1895, it also functioned as Crawley's post office and served as a stop for coach travelers.
The pub has long served as a gathering place where locals celebrated together and marked important town occasions. You can sense how central it remains to community life when you visit.
The pub sits only about 350 meters from Crawley Station, making it easy to reach on foot. Inside you'll find local ales, a pool table, and regular entertainment events including karaoke nights.
The building incorporates surviving elements from a structure dating back to the early 1600s, hidden beneath later additions. Between 1800 and 1883, it also operated as a corn exchange, reflecting its role in the local trade network of that era.
