Royal Lodge, Grade II listed English country house in Windsor Great Park, England.
Royal Lodge is a three-storey country house with around 30 rooms in Windsor Great Park, featuring bedrooms and formal reception rooms with decorative plasterwork and arched windows. The property sits within a large park containing several outbuildings and maintained lawns.
The estate was established in 1662 as Lower Lodge and first served as accommodation for Windsor Castle staff. It was converted into a residence for members of the royal family during the 19th century and enlarged several times.
The estate includes a royal chapel built in the 1820s, still used for services and religious occasions. Its interior shows early Victorian design with simple wooden pews and tall windows letting in natural light.
The house sits about 3 miles south of Windsor Castle and can be seen from public paths but is not open to visitors. Surrounding routes through the park are accessible on foot or by bicycle and offer views of the outer grounds.
The grounds contain Y Bwthyn Bach, a two-thirds scale miniature house given to the future Queen Elizabeth II as a princess in 1932 by the people of Wales. The cottage has working doors and windows plus fully furnished rooms inside.
