All Saints Church, East Horndon, 15th-century Gothic church in East Horndon, England.
All Saints Church is a 15th-century structure built with red Tudor brick and detailed stonework in the English Gothic style. The building sits on raised ground and offers views toward the River Thames.
The Tyrell family rebuilt this church in the late 1400s to replace an earlier Norman structure that stood on the same site. This rebuild shows the family's growing wealth and influence in the area during that period.
The interior holds several medieval monuments to the Tyrell family, with a memorial slab for Lady Alice Tyrell dated 1422 visible among them. These monuments show how closely this family was tied to the church across many generations.
The churchyard is open to visitors at any time, but to enter the building you need to arrange access in advance. Contacting the Churches Conservation Trust is the best way to plan an interior visit.
The building has upper gallery rooms built into its transepts, and one of them contains a Tudor fireplace. This fireplace suggests these spaces may once have been used for residential purposes.
