All Saints Church, Hollingbourne, Medieval parish church in Hollingbourne, England.
All Saints Church is a medieval parish church in Hollingbourne featuring a three-stage tower built from flint and ashlar stone, with pointed arches and octagonal columns. These columns divide the nave from the aisles, creating a spacious interior layout.
The church was founded in medieval times and suffered major damage from an earthquake in 1382. This event led to extensive rebuilding work, followed by another major renovation in the 19th century under architect George Gilbert Scott Jr.
The church holds several monuments honoring the Culpeper family, including an elaborate sculpture of Lady Elizabeth Culpeper created by court sculptor Edward Marshall. These artworks show how important this local family was to the community across many generations.
The interior has seating for around 514 people, making it a medium-sized church with good space for visitors. The building is well maintained and can be visited during opening times, with access through the main entrances.
The north chapel was added in 1638 and features distinctive flint flushwork triangles beneath the battlements. This chapel also contains three signed monuments by sculptor Rysbrack, preserving his distinctive artistic style.
