The original chapel from 1663 underwent several transformations until 1890, when architect James Mountford Allen designed the current Gothic Revival building with subsequent modifications.
The church interior contains a marble floor chancel, a reredos displaying Biblical scenes, and a memorial commemorating Edward the Elder from 923 A.D.
The church maintains regular Anglican services and ceremonies while offering access to visitors interested in exploring its architectural and historical features.
Three World War I soldiers rest in the churchyard, which includes graves and memorials that document the local community's military contributions.
