Conwy Morfa

Conwy Morfa is a sandy beach on the North Wales coast with sand dunes, grassy slopes, rock pools, and pebbled sections along its shoreline. The coastline spans about 2 miles and supports varied habitats that change with the tides.

Beneath the bay's water lies an ancient submerged forest that reveals how the Welsh coastline has changed over geological time. This underwater landscape dates from when sea levels were much lower.

Local people gather shellfish from the exposed banks during low tide, a practice that has shaped how the community relates to this coastline. The mussel beds that appear are not just a natural feature but part of how residents interact with their environment.

Two car parks named Beacons and Oval provide access to the beach, with dog restrictions in place between May and September. Check the tide times before visiting, as available areas change significantly depending on water levels.
