Devonshire Green, Urban park in Sheffield city centre, England
Devonshire Green is a public park in Sheffield's city center with rolling grass terraces, sculptural walls, and planted beds throughout. The space includes a concrete skate park with a large bowl, mini ramps, and other features for riders to use.
The land was originally owned by the FitzWilliam family and suffered severe damage during an aerial attack on Sheffield in 1940. The site was later restored and transformed into a public green space.
The space serves as a gathering place where visitors come to rest, meet friends, or simply spend time outdoors in the city center. People of all ages use the lawns and seating areas throughout the day and evening.
The skate park operates from sunrise until 10 pm and is free to use for all visitors and riders. The park is centrally located and easily accessible on foot, with seating areas and paths suitable for different mobility levels.
A memorial site within the park features five trees planted in memory of residents who died during the bombing raids. This quiet spot offers a place for reflection in the middle of the busy city.
