St Nicholas Olave, Historic church building in Queenhithe Ward, City of London, United Kingdom.
St Nicholas Olave was a medieval parish church located on Bread Street Hill that served the local community for nearly a millennium before its destruction in the Great Fire of London.
Founded in the 11th century through the merger of two parishes, St Nicholas and St Olave Bradestrat, the church witnessed centuries of London's development until the Great Fire of 1666 destroyed it completely.
The church maintained strong connections with the Worshipful Company of Fishmongers and served as the burial place of notable figures including organist William Blitheman, reflecting its importance in London's commercial and musical heritage.
Following its destruction in 1666, the parish was united with St Nicholas Cole Abbey, and today the site is occupied by Senator House, a modern building in London's financial district.
Despite being completely destroyed over 350 years ago, the church's historical records survive in various archives, providing valuable insights into medieval London parish life and community structures.
