Prestonfield House

Prestonfield House is a 17th-century mansion now operating as a luxury hotel with 18 bedrooms and 5 suites. The building sits surrounded by gardens and private parkland near Arthur's Seat.

The mansion was built in 1687 as a private residence and retains its original baroque architecture and period furnishings. Its conversion to a hotel preserved these authentic elements.

The restaurant within the house serves Scottish dishes in candlelit rooms decorated with antique tapestries and Italian leather walls. Diners experience a blend of historic surroundings and upscale cooking.

The hotel sits about five minutes from the Royal Mile and offers complimentary parking and 24-hour room service. Helicopter landing facilities are also available for guests.

Highland cattle and peacocks roam freely across the 20-acre grounds, creating an unusual setting in the center of the city. These animals are a rare feature for an urban hotel.
