Sexey's Hospital, Grade I listed almshouse in Bruton, England.

Sexey's Hospital is a residential home for elderly people in Bruton comprising a west wing with a chapel, an east wing, and a gateway. These sections are connected by limestone walls that form a unified complex with internal spaces and defined access points.

This building was established in 1638 following Hugh Sexey's death as a charitable foundation for the care of older people. Its dual purpose as a home and school shaped its structure and function from the start.

The limestone structure displays architectural language from the 1630s through its symmetrical design and carefully proportioned window placement. These crafted details allow visitors today to experience directly the building methods and design principles of that era.

This building remains in use today as residential accommodation for older people and preserves its original function. When visiting, guests should be aware that it is an occupied residence with limited public access.

This place was far more than just housing for the elderly from its inception, as it simultaneously sheltered students and a schoolmaster. This combination of care and education under one roof was an unusual arrangement for its time.
