Grabrovnica, Rural settlement in Pitomača, Croatia.
Grabrovnica is a small village in the municipality of Pitomača, located in the Virovitica-Podravina region. The settlement sits among farmland and open countryside with scattered houses and agricultural plots.
The village formed as part of the frontier zone between the Austrian Empire and the Ottoman Empire during earlier centuries. After 1918, the area became part of the newly formed Yugoslav state.
The population maintains traditional farming practices and participates in regional festivals organized in the municipality of Pitomača throughout the year.
Visitors will find no major facilities here since the settlement is entirely rural and dependent on nearby Pitomača for services. Having a car is helpful for exploring the area.
The name comes from the hornbeam tree, which once grew abundantly in this landscape and shaped its character. These trees can still be spotted scattered throughout the region today.
