Kūh-e Hezār

Mount Hezar rises to an elevation of 4,500 meters, making it the highest summit in Kerman Province and the tallest peak in southern Iran.

Ancient travelers have traversed the mountain paths for centuries, with stone structures near the summit indicating possible connections to Anahita, the Persian water deity.

The mountain's name derives from the Persian word 'hezar', reflecting the thousand different plant species found across its slopes and valleys.

The northern approach from Rain Waterfall serves as the primary climbing route, with a mountain shelter located at 3,100 meters providing accommodation for 25 climbers.

The village of Bab Zangi, situated at 3,309 meters on Mount Hezar's slopes, stands as the highest permanent settlement in Iran.
