Zein-o-Din Caravanserai

The circular structure features an eight-meter wall, six semicircular towers, and contains 32 rooms arranged around a central courtyard with a pool.

Shah Abbas commissioned architect Mohammad Sultan Yazdi to construct this desert accommodation in the 10th century along the trade route from Fars to Khorasan.

The caravanserai exemplifies Safavid architecture with its traditional Persian design elements, including ventilation systems and symmetrical room layouts for merchants and travelers.

Located 60 kilometers from Yazd on the Kerman road, the renovated caravanserai provides modern accommodation with private bathrooms and serves traditional Persian meals.

This rare round caravanserai contains a twelve-sided mezzanine with porticos leading to rooms, while long corridors on east and west sides access the stalls.
