Kesselkogel is a summit in the Rosengarten group of the Dolomites reaching 3,002 meters (9,849 feet). It features steep rock walls and exposed ridges that make it stand out in this mountain range.
The summit was first climbed in 1872 by English mountaineers Charles Comyns Tucker and Thomas Henry Carson with guide Antonio Bernard from Campitello. This ascent marked an important moment in the exploration of this Alpine region.
The name Antermoia originates from Ladin mythology, where a water nymph resided in the adjacent lake within the Rosengarten mountain range.
Access is available through several routes, including the Via Ferrata from Rifugio Passo Principe, which requires proper safety gear and climbing experience. Visitors should be prepared for alpine conditions and exposed terrain.
The mountain offers over 80 different climbing routes across its rock formation, making it one of the most diverse climbing areas in the region. This variety draws mountaineers with different skill levels.
