Rifugio Fronza alle Coronelle

Rifugio Fronza alle Coronelle is a mountain shelter at about 2337 meters elevation in the Dolomites, providing climbers and hikers with beds, a restaurant, and a terrace with views of the surrounding peaks. From here you can see several mountain chains including Latemar and the peaks of the Brenta-Cevedale region.

The shelter was built around 1900 and has served as a refuge and supply point for mountaineers in the Dolomites region ever since. It has lasted more than a century and remains part of this mountain landscape's history.

The shelter shows the building style and look of this mountain region, with typical South Tyrolean features you notice right away when you arrive. The kitchen serves regional dishes that reflect how people live and eat in this area.

The shelter can accommodate about 60 people and has a restaurant and bar, though you should call ahead during the warmer months. Good hiking boots and mountain experience are needed to reach this place.

Several mountain trails start from this location, including a path that runs beneath the red rock walls of the Catinaccio massif. This hike brings you close to the striking red cliffs that define this area.
