Villa Godi, Renaissance villa with Italian garden in Lugo di Vicenza, Italy

Villa Godi is a Renaissance villa with an Italian garden in Lugo di Vicenza, featuring a symmetrical stone facade with a central loggia of three arches. A grand staircase leads to the entrance hall, with rooms arranged in an orderly sequence throughout the interior.

Andrea Palladio designed this building in 1537 for the Godi family, making it his first documented architectural project. The work later appeared in his influential writings on architecture, becoming an important example of his approach.

The rooms inside display frescoes by several Renaissance painters showing muses and poets in arcadian scenes. These wall paintings create an artistic setting that reflects the owner's refined taste and connection to humanist ideas.

The building can be visited through guided tours and houses an archaeology museum in the basement. Visitors will also find spaces used for events and conferences throughout the property.

The 19th-century park features paths that wind through the grounds and includes a lake where swans swim. Along these paths, visitors discover commemorative stones carved with poetry, adding a literary layer to the visit.
