Presanella, Mountain summit in Trentino, Italy
The Cima Presanella rises to 3,558 meters as the highest peak of the Adamello-Presanella mountain group in the southern part of the Eastern Alps.
Douglas William Freshfield, accompanied by H.A. Beachcroft and H. Walker with two local guides, completed the first recorded ascent of Cima Presanella in August 1864.
The mountain stands within the Adamello-Brenta Natural Park, which received recognition as a Geopark in 2008 for its environmental and geological importance.
The optimal climbing period extends from June through September, with three normal routes approaching the summit from Val di Sole, Val Nambrone, and Val Genova valleys.
The northern face presents a 550-meter ice wall with an average steepness of 55 degrees, featuring the notable Grandi-Crugnola climbing route.
