Chiesa della Compagnia della Disciplina della Santa Croce, Former religious building in Forcella district, Naples, Italy.

Chiesa della Compagnia della Disciplina della Santa Croce is a former baroque church in the Forcella district featuring a 17th-century facade defined by large Ionic pilasters and a central stone portal with a round tympanum. Inside stands an 18th-century majolica floor, an oratory with painted walls, and an adjacent cloister with fragmented wall frescoes from the same period.

The site was founded in 1290 as a chapel and held religious significance for Naples over many centuries. In 1485, it closed under King Ferrante I after members of the confraternity participated in a conspiracy against the crown.

The name refers to a confraternity devoted to the veneration of the cross, established by wealthy Naples citizens for charitable works. Visitors today can observe how this place shaped the spiritual practices and community bonds of the local population over centuries.

The building became accessible to the public in 2023 following major restoration work, so visitors can expect to find the spaces in good condition. It is advisable to check opening hours in advance and be prepared for possible crowds during busy times.

The complex contains a cloister decorated with wall paintings depicting scenes from Jesus's life, though only a single fresco showing Christ meeting the Samaritan woman survives from what was once a complete cycle. This solitary image hints at the artistic richness that once surrounded the entire courtyard.
