Monte Iudica

The mountain served as a reference point for ancient Mediterranean maritime routes, guiding ships navigating between the eastern and western parts of Sicily.

Local shepherds maintain traditional grazing practices on Monte Iudica's slopes, continuing agricultural methods that date back many generations in this region.

Hikers can access the summit through marked trails starting from the eastern base, with the ascent taking approximately three hours during favorable weather conditions.

The mountain's position offers simultaneous views of Mount Etna, the Ionian Sea, and the central Sicilian plateau from its peak.
