Riserva regionale Abetina di Rosello

The reserve spans 211 hectares of mountainous terrain between 850 and 1,179 meters in elevation, containing forests of silver fir trees and diverse wildlife.

Established in 1992 as a Natural Oasis with 170 hectares, the area expanded to its current size through Regional Law 109 in September 1997.

The reserve represents an essential part of the Medio Sangro territory, maintaining natural heritage through scientific research and conservation programs.

Marked trails guide visitors through observation areas where they can spot various wildlife species, including wolves, wild boars, and numerous bird species.

The silver fir trees in this reserve have adapted to warmer summers, distinguishing them from other central Italian mountain forests.
