Rocca di Asolo

The irregular polygon fortress stands at the summit of Mount Ricco with walls measuring 15 meters in height and 4 meters in thickness at the base.

Archaeological excavations revealed a small religious hall with an apse from the sixth century, indicating continuous settlement and fortification since pre-Roman times.

The fortress changed control between Venice, Treviso, and Padua authorities throughout medieval times, marking significant shifts in regional power dynamics.

Visitors can access the fortress on weekends between 10:00 and 19:00 from April to October, and between 10:00 and 17:00 from November to March.

From the fortress walls, observers can see across the entire Po Valley to the Alps, and on clear days, the Venice lagoon becomes visible in the distance.
