The Santa Maria nel Bosco Sanctuary stands among ancient fir trees near the location where Saint Bruno lived as a hermit.
The sanctuary's facade underwent reconstruction after the earthquake of 1783, incorporating reserve materials and featuring an eighteenth-century bust of Saint Bruno.
The sanctuary includes a wooden statue of Madonna from the nineteenth century and multiple marble Carthusian coats of arms from the seventeenth century.
The sanctuary opens daily from 6:30 AM to noon and from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM on weekdays, with extended hours until 7 PM on weekends.
A granite pool in the sanctuary's square displays a statue of Saint Bruno kneeling, commemorating the patron saint's regular acts of penance.
