Museo Ebraico di Venezia, Religious museum in Cannaregio district, Venice, Italy
The Jewish Museum of Venice exhibits traditional artifacts, including ceremonial silver objects, ancient textiles, and religious manuscripts from the local Jewish community.
Founded in 1954 and officially opened in 1990, the museum occupies a building between the Great German Synagogue and Canton Synagogue in the Venetian Ghetto.
The museum collection contains wedding contracts, ritual vestments, spice racks, shofars, and ceremonial plates that demonstrate Jewish traditions from the 17th to 19th centuries.
Located at Campo di Ghetto Nuovo 2902b in Venice, the museum welcomes visitors from Sunday through Friday between 10:00 AM and 5:30 PM.
The museum preserves items from five synagogues and three study houses that remain unchanged since the establishment of the Venetian Ghetto in 1516.
