Iwasaki Castle, Medieval castle in Nisshin, Japan.
The wooden castle sits on a hilltop with dry moats, earthen walls, and a five-story modern tower structure built in 1987.
Built during the late Muromachi period, the castle changed hands from Oda Nobuhide to the Matsudaira clan and later to the Niwa family until 1600.
The castle site includes a historical museum displaying artifacts from the feudal era and hosting traditional Japanese cultural events throughout the year.
The castle grounds open daily from 9:00 to 17:00, except Mondays and the period between December 28 and January 4, with free admission.
During the Battle of Komaki-Nagakute in 1584, over 300 defenders of the castle perished in combat, leading to a decisive victory for the Oda-Tokugawa alliance.
