Mikawakougei Glass Art Museum, Art museum with glass exhibits in Nishio, Japan
The Mikawa Glass Craft Museum displays a collection of glass artworks, including sculptures, ornaments, and decorative pieces created by regional artists.
Established in 1999, the museum inaugurated its centerpiece attraction in 2000 with the installation of Sphere, recognized as the largest kaleidoscope globally.
The museum promotes glass craftsmanship through regular exhibitions, featuring local artists who contribute to the development of contemporary glass art in Japan.
Located 50 minutes from Okazaki Interchange, the museum offers free parking for 40 vehicles and operates from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with last entry at 5:00 PM.
Visitors can participate in hands-on glass crafting workshops, including sandblasting and fusing techniques, to create their personal glass artworks.
