Mizuho Rugby Stadium, Rugby stadium in Nagoya, Japan
Mizuho Rugby Stadium was a sports venue in Nagoya with a grass field measuring about 135 meters long and 80 meters wide. The facility could accommodate approximately 15,000 spectators and sat within Mizuho Park.
The venue opened in 1941 and underwent several modifications over the decades, including major expansions in 1982 and renovation work in 1994. The structure was demolished in 2021 to make way for new development.
The stadium served as home ground for professional rugby teams Toyota Verblitz and Toyota Industries Shuttles Aichi competing in Japan's top league. Fans gathered here regularly to watch their favorite teams compete at the highest level of domestic rugby.
The stadium sat within Mizuho Park and was accessible by the Nagoya Municipal Subway, with the Mizuho Undōjō Higashi station serving as the nearest stop. The surrounding park offered green spaces and facilities for visitors to explore.
After demolition in 2021, the site was designated for a new sports complex specifically designed for the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya. This transformation shows how the location continues to serve as a key venue in the city's sports development plans.
