御殿山TB, Highway tollbooth in Hachioji, Japan
Gotenyama TB is a tollbooth along National Route 16 in Hachioji. The facility had separate lanes for regular and light vehicles, with automated ETC payment systems and staffed collection booths serving traffic in both directions.
The Japan Highway Public Corporation established this tollbooth in October 1985, with operations later transferred to Central Nippon Expressway Company in October 2005. The facility ceased operations in October 2015.
The facility reflected Japanese efficiency in transportation infrastructure, incorporating automated payment systems alongside traditional staffed collection booths.
The tollbooth was accessible from both directions of travel and offered multiple payment options suited to different vehicle types. Visitors should note that the facility closed and is no longer operational today.
Before closing, the site functioned as a small rest area with parking spaces, restrooms, and vending machines for passing drivers. These amenities made it more than just a payment point along the route.
