Ha Yama

Ha Yama is a stratovolcano in Yamagata Prefecture that rises to approximately 1460 meters and features multiple hiking routes through beech forests. The volcanic terrain becomes increasingly steep as trails lead toward the summit.

The mountain gained spiritual importance during the Edo period when pilgrims traveled to sacred peaks in the region. Its role in local spiritual practices has been recognized for centuries.
