西江寺, Buddhist temple in Minoh mountains, Japan
The temple complex includes multiple buildings, traditional gardens, walking paths, and a red pagoda visible from the surrounding mountainous area.
Founded in 765 AD, the temple received its name after successfully treating Emperor Seiwa's illness, leading to its reputation for granting victories.
The temple grounds contain numerous Daruma dolls, where visitors mark one eye when making a wish and complete the second eye upon achievement.
The temple offers meditation sessions, sutra copying experiences, and sells religious items including Daruma dolls, Goshuin seals, and special victory-themed sweets.
During November, illuminated displays enhance the nighttime viewing of the Tahoto Pagoda and Benten Pond within the temple grounds.
