Kōnoike Shinden

Kōnoike Shinden is an agricultural area in Osaka Prefecture with networks of irrigation channels running through traditional rice paddies. The water systems are arranged to supply each field during the growing seasons, and the paddies remain cultivated year after year.

During the Edo period, local farmers transformed marshland into fields through a major land reclamation project. This work created the foundation for rice cultivation that continues here today.
