Former Kosaka Family Residence, Historic house in Seta, Japan.
The Former Kosaka Family Residence features traditional Japanese architectural elements with rooms arranged around a central garden and wooden corridors connecting different sections.
The Shimizu Corporation constructed this residential building in September 1938 for Junzō Kosaka, incorporating both Japanese and Western design elements of that period.
The residence maintains original tea rooms, tatami floors, and sliding doors that demonstrate the living standards of upper-class Japanese families in the late 1930s.
Visitors can access the residence through guided tours every Wednesday and Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00, with entrance fees of 500 yen for adults.
The residence contains original furniture and decorative elements from 1938, including custom-made light fixtures and carved wooden panels depicting seasonal motifs.
