Nagoyashinakamura Library

Nagoyashinakamura Library is a public library in Aichi Prefecture with multiple reading areas distributed throughout open stacks across several floors. Custom-designed furniture shapes the interior space and creates a functional environment for browsing and reading.

The library was established to provide educational materials and encourage reading among Nagoya residents. Over time it became a central part of the city's municipal library network serving the broader community.

The library provides spaces for craft workshops where visitors can join hands-on community projects. These programs connect reading with practical creative activities that bring people together around shared interests.

Visitors can borrow up to six books and three audiovisual materials for two-week periods. Borrowed items can be returned at any branch location within the Nagoya City Public Libraries system.

Four distinctive towers at each corner of the building create its recognizable silhouette from outside. The yellow entrance tower known as the Tower of the Sun serves as a striking visual landmark that visitors notice immediately.
